Introduction

The role of Business Development Manager requires an articulate and highly personable candidate. You will work closely with Senior Management and the Board to identify new business opportunities. You will have had experience and be expected to make calls from the company’s databases, carry out email campaigns, DM campaigns and client entertainment in order to develop client relationships. You will have a proven track record in generating business from scratch and attending face to face meetings in order to build lasting relationships. You will have the drive to take responsibility for expanding your own client base and using your tenacity be able to handle every part of the sales process, from making the initial call, meeting the client, taking the brief and finally pitching back.

Main tasks and responsibilities

•    Work with the Senior Management Team and Board to maintain and to assist in the development of the company’s sales strategy for the future.
•    Assist with determining key requirements to enter new markets including undertaking marketing analysis, devising and implementing a marketing strategy for the purpose of seeking out new business in all relevant sectors including IT, FMCG, Media and pharmaceutical companies.
•    Manage monthly client entertainment activity and provide weekly reports
•    Act as a central point of contact for the company’s day to day business development activities.
•    Present the company’s services to potential new clients.
•    Raise awareness of the Company and its services through relationships with suppliers in the industry.
•    Manage database of existing contacts and develop additional contacts from marketing activity.

Sweden might be famous of generic boxes containing uniform designs; however, this trip is far from ordinary and offers an introduction to some of the world’s most scenic coastlines.  We at Black Tomato feel we’ve ‘thought out of the box’ to create this thrilling and exclusive incentive.

DAY 1: Crayfish with a side order of Regatta

The delegates’ will fly to Arlanda Stockholm, they will then be transferred by private minibus to downtown Stockholm. There will be Rib boats ready to pick up all delegates’, who will feel the power of the Ribs as they are transported through the most beautiful surroundings to Black Tomato’s hidden gem, Sandhamn.

Upon arrival a traditional Swedish Crayfish party lunch will be thrown, catered by some of Sweden’s top chefs; the beverages will also be locally sourced. 

In the afternoon, the group will be escorted to the Marina, where they will be greeted by the skipper and professional crew of their boats.  The racing yachts used are particularly suitable for mixed ability groups.  After a welcome drink and a safety briefing the teams, will be ready to take to the water, sailing out into the harbour. Each member of the crew will be given their role and position on the boat. The delegates’ will have plenty of time to practise their race techniques before the regatta starts. The teams will compete in a series of match races, consisting of 4-5 short course races. The team with the quickest times over all 4 or 5 races will be deemed the winner of the Regatta and in true yachting style they will be rewarded with a bottle of champagne at the awards ceremony back on dry land.

In the evening, the delegates’ will have a three-course meal at the area’s most exclusive restaurant; here they will have the opportunity to sample one of Sweden’s finest dining experiences.

The night will be spent at a modern hotel in Sandhamn; with breathtaking views.

DAY 2:  Shooting across the water

The following morning the delegates’ will have a Swedish buffet breakfast, this buffet offers classic Swedish midsummer food including a range of local delicacies including herring to freshly picked strawberries.

After breakfast the group will be escorted to the Harbour, after a safety briefing the party will fire up the Jet-skis and begin their Safari though the Swedish archipelago. This magnificent cluster of 24,000 islands is bliss for those seeking picturesque, waterfront nature. This is a truly unforgettable journey.

A regatta race

The delegates’ will take the jet-ski’s to a stunning deserted island.  Here under the shelter of some tree’s they will have a picnic basket full of Swedish delicacies.  After exploring their surroundings they have the opportunity to clay pigeon shoot on the beach. 

After returning from the full day’s activity the group will have a relaxing final dinner. The three-course meal will be taken in one of the structures built by Oil dealer Kurt Heinicke. The tower offers the most exquisite view of the landscape and the water of Trollharan especially as the sun sets.

DAY 3: Speedin’ to Stockholm

As the trip draws to an end, the delegates’ will have the final opportunity to have herring for their breakfast; there will also be some added surprises!

The delegates’ will be transported back to Stockholm in a Rib boat, this will give them the final opportunity to take in the stunning views of the Swedish coastline.  A private transfer will be waiting for the delegates’ arrival and will transport them to the airport.

SOLUTION

The delegates’ boarded the exclusive yacht in Dalaman, their home for the next 8 days.  Having been to their cabins to change and unpack, the group returned to the top deck where they enjoyed a welcome drink as the boat set sail out of the harbour. The yacht sailed to a nearby secluded bay within the Gulf of Fethiye, here they had a late light lunch. After basking in the sun there was also the opportunity to swim in the crystal clear turquoise waters and use the yachts own water sports equipment. After lunch the yacht cruised to Aga Limani, ideal to visit the ancient site of Lydae home to an array of Roman and Byzantine ruins.  That evening the group enjoyed a delicious three course dinner on board the yacht.

The Gulf of Fethiye

The following morning, during breakfast, the clipper cruised to Ekincik Bay, a picturesque bay with red cliffs and steep wooded slopes.  From here guests boarded a shallow bottom river boat to visit Dalyan and the ruins of Caunos. The boats are able to cross the sand bar where the Dalyan river delta meets the sea. Here the group managed to observe some of the Loggerhead turtles, who had come ashore to breed. When the group landed on the shore, they were met by a private guide who took to the ruins of ancient Caunos where a Medieval fort stands guard over an amphitheatre and Roman baths.  Upstream is the spectacular 4th Century Lycian rock tombs, they are carved into the cliff face like temples. After the short tour of the ruins the group enjoyed a delicious seafood lunch at a restaurant that sits right on the banks of the River Delta. The boat moored up alongside a table and the group sat under the shade to enjoy their lunch. After lunch, the boat continued upstream to the natural thermal pools and mud baths. The guests bathed in the mud, that supposedly cures all illnesses!

That evening the boat moored at Ekincik, dinner was taken at a local restaurant perched on the hillside overlooking the scenic bay. With the following day’s white water rafting activity looming, the guests return to the boat for an early night.

After breakfast on board the group were driven up into the mainland to the rafting centre, after a safety briefing and once everyone had been given all of the necessary rafting equipment, the group were split up into teams. After an adrenalin fueled white water rafting adventure, along grade 5 rapids, the group arrived safely to the centre where a BBQ lunch was waiting for them. After a late lunch the group was transferred to Marmaris, where the yacht was already awaiting them.  That evening after dinner on board, the guests sampled the night life in Marmaris.

The ruins of Caunos

The next morning was spent cruising at sea, taking the quests from Marmaris to Bencik.  The clipper stopped for lunch in a picturesque bay on route.  The boat arrived at Bencik in the late afternoon; here delegates’ took advantage of a local 5 star resort where they had the opportunity to try out as many water sporting activities as they liked and were taken ashore by the yachts small power boat. The group had the chance to use all the hotel facilities including a hamman treatment!

The following morning was spent at leisure; guests had the opportunity to continue windsurfing, wakeboarding or waterskiing at the local resort. In the late afternoon the yacht set off for the short journey to Datca. After making anchor guests were picked up by minibus and taken to a private and historical property where they dined on a traditional Turkish meal. 

The following morning the boat left the harbor before the guests had stirred and took them to Knidos. After breakfast the delegates were transferred to Black Island, contrary to its name the island is in fact green and covered in pine. The island offers many beautiful coves and beaches.  The group enjoyed the clear visibility of the surrounding sea. They were met by a dive boat for a full morning diving. The beginners among the group had the opportunity to experience a trial dive while the experts went off to discover the local marine life.

As this evening was the last evening the crew on board had made a special dinner and all the guests dressed up in their toga’s! The evening was full of entertainment and delicious food and wine, in a bay overlooking Black Island.

Today after a relaxed breakfast and a swim the yacht cruised into Bodrum Harbour. The delegates’ had the opportunity to take the rest of the day at leisure. Bodrum offers a range of opportunities including shopping, sightseeing, or a visit to a hamman. The final dinner was taken overlooking Bodrum Harbour and the International Marina; both are in the shadow of the Castle of St Peter, built by the Crusaders in the 15th century. After dinner guests had the opportunity to watch live music in the local bars and stroll down town to experience Bodrum’s famous night life.

This morning upon disembarking the yacht, the delegates’ were transferred to the airport, all with an array of memories of their Turkish yacht experience.

Black Tomato Events were required to put on a dinner with a difference - the added twist being a fun and relaxed team building element to bond 65 Senior Banking executives from the Paris and London offices.

SOLUTION

The modern venue chosen offered a unique interpretation of traditional Italian techniques.  The menu featured traditional and rustic ingredients and the restaurant is committed to sourcing seasonal and local produce.  The venue chosen has also been the subject of many rave reviews in high profile media.  This contemporary venue is perfectly located for city clients looking for a very ‘Shoreditch’ experience.

 Upon arrival the delegates donned branded chefs hats and aprons and were split into 6 teams and were required to recreate a selection of dishes on the menu.  Once their dish was completed each team would be scored by their peers, and amid cheers and boos, a good humoured battle was on! The team judged to have created the most tantalising dish received a prize for their efforts. All was forgotten when the main course arrived, a delicious slow cooked check of beef; created by the safe hands of the head chef and his team.

The group enjoyed their meal with specially mixed cocktails and Italian wines before departing for their local hotel just a short walk away.

SOLUTION

Black Tomato events delivered an encounter with the power and thrill of two extremes activities, the sheer exhilaration of helicopter transfers and high performance Sunseeker powerboats, both created a unique and versatile event.

One of the modes of transport

The delegates’ base for their next two days was a boutique hotel set in 130 acres of Hampshire countryside on the edge of the New Forest National Park. The property boasts a staff to guest ratio of two to one; it’s not hard to understand why the venue was voted ‘Best Hotel in the British Isles’. The hotel offers elegance and style with effortless hospitality. The on-site restaurant holds the accolade of a Michelin Star.

After the delegates’ arrived at the hotel they were given a full safety briefing for the awaiting helicopters for their transfer to the Isle of Wight. The flight in the Long Ranger helicopters is totally thrilling and memorable; guests watched the colourful views of the Solent and Isle of Wight pass below them.

Following a rolling touchdown in Cowes the short transfer to the marina was made.  Awaiting the guests were their skippers who escorted them to their waiting luxury Sunseeker Superhawk 34 powerboats, a low-weight craft able to undertake a top speed of 40 knots!
 The Solent is a unique stretch of water on the South coast of England, dividing the coastlines of the UK and the Isle of Wight. Its unique positioning has naturally created one of the safest and most picturesque stretches of water in Britain. The Solent is steeped in history and holds many famous landmarks and attractions such as the historic Needles or Hurst Castle.

Following the formation power down the Solent, the group arrived at Yarmouth for a hearty two- course lunch at a waterside restaurant. The day resumed with guests returning to the water on the Sunseekers to see the historic sites and geographic landmarks of the Western Solent. The powerboats headed to Lymington where the teams enjoyed a refreshing glass of champagne or Pimms before being transferred back to Hotel.

Upon their return the guests could enjoy some private leisure time before meeting for a private Michelin starred three-course dinner.
The following morning was spent enjoying the hotels facilities and grounds, the possibilities were endless including spa treatments, a round on the golf course or possibly a bike ride. This incredible experience came to a close after a three-course lunch.

Black Tomato Events were approached to deliver a four day ski incentive that could offer a huge variation of skiing with a good balance between après-ski and sport.

SOLUTION

A lively ski resort in the Savoie province of France was chosen, it fitted the brief ideally. The resort’s location benefits from a connecting network of pistes providing a vast ski area to discover. The chosen hotel was nestled in the heart of the resort, offering ski in and ski out access and particularly breathtaking view of the Alps. The hotel has a strong chalet feel to it and most of the rooms have fantastic views overlooking the beautiful mountains and the village.

The guests were able to enjoy full days at leisure, getting to know the resort and neighboring surroundings at their own pace. The expert skiing group were accompanied by a guide for the three days of skiing, who took them off the beaten track to discover some of the finest off piste skiing that the French Alps has to offer. The guide is a local avalanche hero so the group was in safe hands at all times. The beginner group had lessons organised, to get them confident enough to be able to progress onto blue and red runs and away from the nursery slopes.

After a hard day on the slopes the party would re-group at one of the popular après ski bars where they would enjoy a couple of drinks before returning to the hotel to freshen up in time for dinner.

After an action packed couple of days in the Alps, the time came for the group to pack their bags and hand back their skies before being transferred down the mountain and back to the airport for their return flights home.

SOLUTION

Venice is a unique urban masterpiece with canals instead of streets, boats instead of buses and ornate bridges instead of subways. It has been dubbed undoubtedly the most beautiful city built by man.  The city is well contained making it an ideal location for holding the bespoke treasure hunt.

The delegates stayed in a striking 5* hotel sympathetically restored, offering unforgettable panoramic views over the Grand Canal.  The property is centrally located close to the iconic St. Mark’s square.

The programme began once the delegates were greeted and then escorted to a water taxi terminal to board a private launch transferring them to their hotel.  This scenic journey is a perfect welcome to the city presenting an array of spectacular views. The afternoon consisted of time at leisure allowing the guests to discover Venice at their own pace.

The evening began with the group being escorted be foot to one the most photographed attractions in the world, St Marks Square. The dinner venue was a rustic Venetian restaurant, secretly tucked away down a little alley off the square. The group enjoyed a delicious three-course meal before wondering back to the hotel.

The following day, the guests embarked on a full day bespoke treasure hunt. This activity enabled full exploration of Venice, whilst completing a series of cryptic clues. During the hunt interesting anecdotal information was dispensed, and a variety of transport methods were also used.  After the teams were fully briefed they were ready to complete and answer various tasks leading them around Venice.  There was an added incentive to complete the challenge correctly; the clues revealed the location of their lunch!

The Famous Gondola's

The climax of the trip was at the truly captivating and exclusive Gala Dinner. All guests were provided with an exquisite Venetian mask for a night of anonymous fun. The venue was a Venetian Palace on a secluded island in the north of the Venetian lagoon. The Palace has been resorted to its former glory and the rich and luxurious interior designed added to the ambience of the evening. After champagne and canapés, the group were escorted through to banqueting hall, where they enjoyed an incomparable three-course meal, before dancing the night away into the early hours of the morning.

The following morning the group had further time at leisure to take on board any last minute sites, before getting a water taxi back to the airport for their return flight back to the UK.

The brief required a modern and dynamic metropolis; a location and tailor made programme that would create a contrast between meetings. Their tightly packed schedule required a well organised itinerary which would offer moments of utter brilliance that would live long in the memory.

Black Tomato Events felt that Hong Kong would provide the dramatic backdrop for the meetings and leisure time.

The selected hotel continues to be deemed one of the world’s eminate venue for business and leisure. It is conveniently located offering unrivalled panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island, alongside unparalleled service and facilities. The programme began with a welcome lunch at hotel in the celebrated celebrity restaurant Nobu, followed by the first of the scheduled meetings. That evening  a stunning sunset  cruise within the Victoria Harbour was undertaken. The vessel  was a handcrafted traditional Chinese junk and as the boat set sail, a glass of champagne was served. The local guide on-board introduced the key sites of Hong Kong and once the sun had set, the boat was perfectly positioned to provide the most spectacular views of the ‘Symphony of Lights’ show. A multimedia spectacle synchronised to music and narration celebrating the energy and spirit, providing a truly illuminating view of the city!

Once the light show had finished, the boat returned the guests to the pier, where upon arrival they were escorted to the restaurant for dinner. As Hong Kong is a city all about views, all of the restaurants chosen for this group, boasted the best views of the city from all angles.

Inside ManMo Temple

The following morning after a relaxed breakfast, the guests commenced with their morning meeting.  Thereafter the group was privately transferred to their afternoon of exploration, utilising a variety of Hong Kong’s transport systems. Their first involved being escorted to a roof top helipad where the group were taken on a 30 minute flight over Hong Kong and the neighbouring islands. Upon landing everyone was taken to the iconic Star Ferry Terminal, where they boarded the Star Ferry which took them across the harbour to Hong Kong Island. Once docked the English speaking guide assisted the group through this bustling area allowing full immersion in the surrounding Chinese culture. The group stopped at various highlights, including Hollywood Road, the famous Ladder Street, and the ornate ManMo temple.  The journey continued with a traditional tea demonstration followed by a Sampan boat ride around the famous Aberdeen fishing village.

To reach the day’s final destination, the group boarded a private street tram, passing the time with a glass of wine and canapés until reaching Victoria Peak, the city’s highest point. The peak showcases a mesmerising, uninterrupted view of sunset over the city, harbour and surrounding islands. 

The group were then driven back to the hotel, where they had time for a quick freshen up before being escorted to one of the world’s swankiest restaurants.  The group had a private room with floor to ceiling views over Hong Kong and enjoyed amazing food and signature cocktails.

The following morning after the final meeting the group were transferred to the airport for their return flights home.

4. UK Meeting

The brief required an incentive reward trip for a group of winners. It was essential that the trip cater for a group of young and adventurous delegates who would covet an abundance of leisure time.

SOLUTION

Black Tomato Events created a programme that delivered a variety of adrenaline filled experiences along with personal leisure time allowing delegates the freedom to further soak up the exuberance of Cape Town.  This awe-inspiring was incentive was rolled out over 4 days.

Shark Cage Diving

On the morning of arrival, the delegates were taken directly to the definitive symbol of South Africa, the iconic Table Mountain.  This prominent landmark is of close proximity to the city, it takes a mere three minute scenic ride by cableway to reach the top.  The view overlooks the city of Cape Town with its sweeping bay, a picturesque introduction to the city. This spot also provided the group with the perfect bird’s eye view of the brand new Football Stadium. Whilst drinking in the view, the group were indulged with welcome refreshments. Thereafter the group were transferred to a relaxed lunch at the hotel, a hotel that provided the perfect base to explore the city by day, or experience best nightlife Cape Town can offer. After a period of private leisure time, dinner was taken at an exciting, contemporary international restaurant and cocktail bar. It was ideally situated at the water’s edge at V & A Waterfront, offering a menu of unique dishes to satisfy a diversity of tastes.

The next morning began with an experience not for the faint hearted, shark cage diving. The coast of Gansbaai is an internationally renowned location for Great White Shark sightings, affectionately known as Shark Alley. This encounter needs no PADI certification; it is undertaken just below the surface in a cage, next to the boat.  The afternoon was utilised at the delegate’s disposal. This evening was spent at Cape Town’s most stylish dinner-dance venue, a restaurant that certainly captures a sense of joie de vivre through its plush décor, and sumptuous dishes.

The Power Boats

To clear the cobwebs (and hangovers!) away, the following morning was spent on an exhilarating boat ride departing from Hout Bay on four power boats. The trip captured the stunning views of Cape Peninsula, particularly the mountain Chapman’s Peak and the sentinel. Lunch was organised at Hout Bay, before the group were then taken to the famous Camp’s Bay, where they enjoyed an afternoon at leisure on the beach soaking up the rays. The evening was spent sipping sundowners at an iconic venue on the beach whilst the sunset over the ocean.

The group enjoyed a final day of leisure to continue exploring the city, prior to flying back to London in the evening.
