SOLUTION
Our solution was to provide an unforgettable five day programme in South Africa, allowing the group to get involved in both social and environmental CSR interventions.
Cement mixing and brick laying
The beginning of the programme saw the group getting involved in a house building project.
Over three days, the group worked with the local community to help build two houses and really had the opportunity to not only get under the skin of the local community but also to understand the challenges the people face and how they can best support them in the future.
All participants got involved in every element of the building process, from the mixing of the cement, carrying of bricks and the laying of the floors and roofs of the houses.
Close encounter with a Whale Shark
The programme continued on the Eastern Cape and Indian Ocean. The group had the opportunity to participate in what must be one of the world’s most unique and inspiring activities, tagging the world’s biggest fish, The Whale-Shark.
The group also had the opportunity to learn all about the conservation efforts to increase numbers of Whale Shark in the wild and how what they were doing fitted into the conservation effort not only in the local area, but worldwide.
